Well folks, it’s almost been a month here in Chicago. Actually in 2 days it will be exactly a month. This means that Nick and I will be back in Denver in a week. While Chicago is definitely not my favorite place to be in January, I have had a lot of fun in the past couple weeks. But this is just a stopping ground. So we’re thankful to be continuing on our journey towards expat life.
When I started this blog a year ago, I was thinking I’d be writing about life overseas a lot sooner than I am. But good things take time. We have been so thankful for the opportunity for Nick to be CELTA certified, and how many doors that opens for both of us. Let’s be honest, we don’t know where we’ll end up but we are looking down an open road now. And two certified teachers have more opportunities in more places than one certified teacher does.
It felt like we drifted for the last year, just waiting for the next thing to start. As hard as it has been to be in Chicago, we know that this is the beginning of the next thing. We are waiting for our FBI check to come back… Still…
And if we get that in time we will have to rush it off to Korea.
If the Korean government process our visa quickly enough, we will be in South Korea on February 22nd. Wow. That is a crazy thought. But we will basically need a miracle for this to work out in time. And so we still wait, knowing that the open road is before us.
